Eye tests in the comfort of your own home

Need an optician but can’t get to one of our practices? We’ll come to you.

Suzanne Dennis Optometrist is a community eye care specialist that can provide domiciliary eye care from our Eccleston, Parbold or Standish practices.

If you live near to Chorley or Wigan, we can arrange visits to carry out home eye tests in the comfort of your own living room or care home.

Who is entitled to an eye test at home?

If you are over 60 or eligible for an NHS funded sight test and are unable to visit us at our practice for an eye test, then our optometrist can visit you.

To find out whether you are eligible, please contact your nearest practice:

- Eccleston (tel. 01257 450 050)

- Parbold (tel. 01257 464 312)

- Standish (tel. 01257 424 300)

A member of staff will be happy to help you.

Your home eye test will last no more than one hour. During their time with you, our qualified optometrist will:

  • Check your medical history

  • Carry out a thorough eye health check, including an eye pressure test

  • Assess your spectacle prescription.

We bring our own portable diagnostic equipment to the appointment. None of the tests are difficult, painful or invasive.

What is included in a home eye test?

What happens if you need new spectacles?

Should you need a new pair of glasses, we make the process of choosing new frames easy.

Our optometrist is trained in fitting eyewear and will bring a range of eyewear frames to the appointment. We carefully select frames to suit everyone’s needs and budget.

We will assist you in choosing a pair of glasses that fit comfortably and recommend the best spectacle lens to suit your visual requirements.
